Dear Reader:

Dear Reader:
This month we’re honoring those in the transportation professions who have received recognition from their peers in the Florida Engineering Society and the Florida Transportation Builders’ Association, especially the FES Engineer of the Year, Yassi Myers. She’s profiled on page 16. Other awards from those groups are found on pages 6 and 12.
Last month, FDOT pulled out all the stops to welcome hundreds of transportation leaders from the Southeast at the annual SASHTO conference in Orlando. We wrapped up the details on page 2.
While there appears to be a lull in many transportation arenas, that’s not so with Port Canaveral. See what we’re talking about in an article on unprecedented growth at the Mid-State East Coast port on page 4.
Let’s not forget that two transportation projects in Florida are in the running for the national America’s Transportation Award, see details on page 8.
And lastly, this month, we’re welcoming a new columnist, Bud Eley who takes a look at asset management techniques on page 4.
If you have a feature story you’d like to see or an article to submit, please drop me an e-mail at Editor@FLtransmag.com
